The Press Journalists and Editors Federation (PJEF) is a non-governmental organization committed to supporting the welfare, rights, and professional growth of journalists, editors, and media professionals throughout India. Established under the Indian Trust Act of 1882, PJEF operates as a legally recognized trust, holding Registration No. 1346 under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Our organization is also registered with NITI Aayog, India's leading policy think tank, under the Unique ID: DL/2021/0292332. This registration, provided by the Government of India, enhances our capacity to implement impactful initiatives, advocate for press freedom, and collaborate with stakeholders to further the development of a fair and transparent media environment.

The Chief Functionary of PJEF is Mr. Mohit Gautam, whose visionary leadership is dedicated to the rights, safety, and professional advancement of media professionals. With a strong background in journalism and a commitment to press freedom, Mr. Gautam continues to lead PJEF towards fostering an equitable and transparent media landscape in India.
